Identification and Care of Photographic Collections


Presented in partnership with Maine Photo Project and Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC)

This hands-on workshop offers an in-depth introduction to the preservation of photographs, including their identification, deterioration, and care. Participants will learn how to recognize various photographic formats and study the preservation problems associated with each format type. The workshop will also discuss storage concerns and preservation priorities, including environmental guidelines and proper care and handling. Participants are encouraged to bring photographs for examination and discussion.  Led by Monique C. Fisher, Senior Photograph Conservator with NEDCC. Registration fee does not include lunch.  A break will be given for lunch on your own.
