Kittery Museum Seeks Administrative Assistant

The Kittery Historical & Naval Society is searching for a year-round, part-time Administrative Assistant. This position will support the work of the Society and its well-known Museum, which is located near the traffic circle in Kittery, Maine.

The Society is a small, non-profit organization. The Museum is open on a seasonal basis (Apr-Oct), while our trustees and volunteers are active year-round. The museum features local community artifacts and memorabilia. Each year, we welcome numerous visitors to Maine, typically from more than forty states and ten foreign countries, including many visitors from the local seacoast area. Responsibilities will include weekly operations, such as scheduling volunteers, processing memberships and donations, ordering supplies, and working with our Board of Trustees. Candidates should have previous administrative experience and computer skills (word processing). Non-profit experience and an appreciation of local history would be helpful.

This job is ideal for someone who seeks flexibility in their own schedule. This is a year-long, paid, contract position for about twelve hours per week.
