Located in the historic Bates Mill in downtown Lewiston, Museum L-A documents and celebrates the economic, social and technological legacy of Lewiston-Auburn and its people. Engaging exhibits tell the story of the local textile, shoe and brick industries as well as the people, the culture, and the community that made the work possible. Museum L-A focuses on creating a learning environment that captures the creativity and innovation of early industry to serve as an inspiration for current and future generations. The current exhibit: "Covering the Nation: The Art of the Bates Bedspread" showcases the creative and quality products produced by the millworkers of Bates Mfg. Co.
