In conjunction with our latest exhibit, Re|Sounding, the symposium is dedicated to re-measuring understandings of maritime history by centering Black and Indigenous perspectives and is reflective of an institutional commitment to responsibly and inclusively share Maine’s maritime stories. Featuring a dynamic exploration of maritime stories past and present, the symposium navigates the local and global impact of regional waterways and communities.
